The Spaniard of Kurdish heritage finished third today in the Dunlop 60 race at the wheel of his Car Collection Motorsport-entered Audi R8 LMS Evo in Kurdistan Racing Team colors. Tutumlu started the Belgian venue with a remarkable recovery drive in the second half of the race after taking over from his teammate Parhofer in sixth place.

Isaac Tutumlu scored another podium finish for Kurdistan Racing Team at Zolder (Belgium), which plays host to the penultimate round of the Dunlop 60 and the DMV GTC. Tutumlu – a Spaniard of Kurdish ancestry- delivered another strong performance in his Car Collection Motorsport Audi R8 LMS Evo, which he is sharing this season with Dirg Parhofer, carrying the colors of Kurdistan Racing Team.
In qualifying, Tutumlu took the fourth spot on the starting grid after clocking a lap time of 1m31.091s, a remarkable effort considering he had never raced at Zolder. Parhofer made the opening stint and headed into the pit lane to hand over to Tutumlu at the pit stop. Tutumlu moved up several places to cross the finish line in third place.

Tutumlu explained that “I qualified fourth on the starting grid with Dirg making the opening stint. After the mandatory pit stop, I had a 30-second deficit to podium places. But I finally passed the Aston Martin for third place despite I was struggling with tire wear in the closing stages as we didn’t change tires. In this way, we saved a set of new tires for Saturday. I’m delighted to achieve another podium finish on the international scene for Kurdistan Racing Team. I hope to bring more trophies home for my country on Saturday.”
